Creating & Managing Campaigns
This guide covers how to create and manage your AI-powered promotion campaigns.
How Campaigns Work: A/B Testingβ
Monetai campaigns use A/B testing to scientifically measure their impact. When you launch a campaign, users are randomly segmented into two groups:
- Baseline (Control Group): These users do not receive any promotions. They represent your baseline performance.
- Monetai (Test Group): These users are eligible to receive AI-targeted promotions.
By comparing the revenue generated by the Monetai(Test Group) against the Baseline (Control Group), you can precisely measure the additional revenue generated by promotions.
- By default, Monetai campaigns are shown to 10% of all users for 30 minutes.
- To change the default campaign settings, please contact us at support@monetai.io.
Creating and Launching a Campaignβ
- Confirm Your SDK Installation
Make sure Monetai SDK is installed properly. - Check Model Readiness
Verify that your model's prediction accuracy is Medium or higher on the dashboard. - Launch the Campaign
Once you're satisfied with your settings, launch the campaign with a single click from the dashboard. The campaign will begin immediately.
Campaign Simulation Testβ
The Monetai 'User Simulation' feature allows you to preview and verify what specific users will see in the app, depending on their assigned campaign group. This enables you to optimize user experiences before applying campaigns to actual users.
How to Use
- Log in to the Monetai Dashboard.
- From the dashboard's top menu, click "Campaigns" and select an active campaign.
- On the campaign detail page, select the "User Simulation" tab.
- In the "Campaign Group" panel, click the "Add" button.
- Enter the "User ID" of the user you wish to simulate into the desired group:
- Baseline Group: Simulate the view for users in the Baseline group.
- Monetai Group: Simulate the view for users in the Monetai group.
- When testing the Monetai group, navigate to the "Prediction Results" tab and further classify the user as:
- Paying User: Simulate the view for predicted paying users.
- Non-paying User: Simulate the view for predicted non-paying users.
- To simulate a user as a Non-paying User, you must also add the user's ID to the Monetai Group.
(If not added to the Monetai Group, Non-paying User simulation wonβt work.) - Entered User IDs take effect immediately upon saving.
- Restart the app for accurate simulation results.
Monitoring Campaign Performanceβ
Once your campaign is live, you can monitor its performance in real-time on the dashboard. We provide two key graphs to help you understand the impact:
- The ARPU Graph (Average Revenue Per User)
This graph compares the average revenue generated per user in the Baseline versus the Monetai.
The gap between the two lines represents the revenue lift generated by the campaign. A wider gap means the promotions are highly effective. - The Revenue Graph
This graph shows the cumulative revenue trends for both groups over the campaign's duration.
To accurately measure the impact of promotions on new purchases, our calculation includes:
- Free trial starts
- Paid subscription conversions
- Refunds
To prevent skewing results, revenue from subscription renewals is excluded.
Ending and Relaunching a Campaignβ
- Ending and Relaunching a Campaign
You can stop a live campaign at any time by clicking the "End Campaign" button on your dashboard. - Launching a New Campaign
Once a campaign concludes, the "Start Campaign" button reactivates. Every new campaign runs as an independent test, ensuring its result is separate from any past campaigns.
